Planning Applications
Most planning applications (although there are exceptions) are made to Buckinghamshire Council who then have responsibility to ask all interested parties (Consultees) including neighbouring properties, and the Town Council for their views on the development.
The Town Council is, therefore, a consultee. The issues the Town Council is able to consider include:
- loss of privacy/impact on residential amenity
- overshadowing/overbearing impact
- highway safety, traffic and parking issues
- noise
- visual amenity/street scene
- wildlife
- historic buildings and conservation
- flooding
- design, and materials
- appearance of the development
- capacity of infrastructure – schools/public transport etc
Issues the Town Council is NOT able to consider include:
- loss of view
- effect on property values
- private rights
- boundary disputes
- construction noise
Planning applications are considered at the next available Planning & Transport committee meeting, which meets on a three weekly basis. Planning Sheets for these meetings include full details of all applications and links to the appropriate section of the Buckinghamshire Council planning portal. The decisions from these meetings are recorded as minutes on the Town Council website and also shown on the Buckinghamshire planning portal as ‘Consultee comments’.
All planning meetings will be held at Marlow Town Council Offices at 7pm on the date scheduled unless otherwise stated on the notice.
