Mayor’s Awards 2023

The Mayor announced his Lifetime Achievement Award to be presented to Mrs Liz Ferris for her community work over many years. He said: “Liz has given a lifetime of outstanding service to children in Marlow, working with community groups and individual families, including Tiddlywinks, Teeny Saints Children’s groups and Lighthouse.

“In addition to caring for children, she actively supports the elderly, making a point of visiting them, taking them to Holy Communion and supporting their wellbeing in practical and spiritual ways.”  Deputy Lieutenant Dr Sheena Dykes presented the Award for Lifetime Achievement Community Recognition to Liz Ferris on the Mayor’s behalf.

Mayor’s Awards 2023 – Nominations open now until January 31st, 2023

Do you know someone who has an entrepreneurial spirit and is helping to shape Marlow’s future?

We want to be able to honour these people in our community for playing a vital role in creating a better future. These new awards will recognise local entrepreneurial talent of all residents, both young and old, who create opportunities for people in the community to come together, connect and engage with each other to help shape Marlow’s future. Our new approach means that we are seeking the Marlow idea-makers and creatives with entrepreneurial spirit.

Have you, or do you know someone who has supported, improved, or created a new programme, initiative or group that has brought people in our community together in a different or better way? Think about those who have helped support/improve residents’ health, wellbeing or environment through nature, arts, sport, business, volunteering, charity work or outreach.

Have they created a new/worked with: local organisations, charities, groups, schools or sporting teams? Have they worked with/helped improve: local businesses, cafes, restaurants, shops, riverfront, gardens, commercial areas or town?

We want to recognise these special Marlow residents who help make the town a better place to live and work.

Winners will be announced at the Civic Celebration on 12th March 2023 (location and time tbc nearer to the date).
