Council elects new Mayor and Deputy Mayor
On the evening of 9th May, Marlow Town Council held its Annual Parish Meeting followed by Annual Meeting, and elected a new Mayor, Cllr David Brown and Deputy Mayor, Cllr Colleen Stapley.
Outgoing Mayor Richard Scott said: “I am honoured to have been your Town Mayor for the past four years. Marlow remains a very community-orientated town and I’d like to offer a big thank you to all residents for their support. My thanks also go to all Town Councillors and to my Deputy, Cllr Jocelyn Towns.”
The new Mayor, David Brown said: “I am delighted to have been elected as your mayor until May 2024. I have lived in the town for 30 years and it’s with great pride that I will serve Marlow Town Council and all residents.”
New chairs of the Council’s various committees were also elected, and Jan Bailey, PA to the Mayor, was presented with a crystal trophy, gift vouchers and flowers to mark her recent retirement.
Over 70 members of the public attended and enjoyed drinks and canapés following the meeting.
