Coronation Crown Competition

Judges Mayor Richard Scott and Colleen Stapley

Despite terrible weather leading to the cancellation of Marlow’s May Fayre and the Big Screen in Higginson Park, the Town Council’s Crown Competition went ahead and the winners were announced on Saturday, 6th May.

Town Mayor Richard Scott said: “We’re delighted that we were still able to hold the Crown Competition and avoid disappointing the children. They put a huge effort into their entries and the standard was excellent.”

Children were asked to ‘upcycle, repurpose and forage’ for the materials to make their crowns. The Mayor described the winning crowns as “creative and resourceful.” Prizes were coronation seed-planting kits, commemorative teddy bears and mugs.
