Marlow joins The Great British Spring Clean

Marlow is taking part in The Great British Spring Clean 2023, a nationwide campaign organised by Keep Britain Tidy. On Saturday, 1st April, people from all over the town are invited to take part in caring for the town by helping to clear it of litter.

Emma Hawkins from Marlow Wombles said: “Please come and join us for the Great British Spring Clean Big Pick, organised by Keep Britain Tidy. Bring your families and friends, and you’ll see what fun litter picking can be!”

“Marlow Town Council is delighted to support the Great British Spring Clean,” Town Mayor Richard Scott added. “This is a great event for all the family, and we hope as many people as possible come along.”

Litter pickers and bags will be available at the Town Council offices at Court Garden House from 10 a.m and should be returned by 12.30 p.m. The Council will also dispose of the rubbish at the end of the morning.

The Council requests that people with their own litter pickers keep the MTC office informed as to where they will litter pick, to avoid duplication of effort. Rubbish bags can be left close to the Council office for disposal. Litter pickers are available for loan for those who would like to litter pick at other times.

Back for its eighth year, the Great British Spring Clean is the nation’s biggest mass-action environmental campaign. The event is made possible thanks to media partner Clear Channel, as well as supporting partners KFC, McDonald’s, Nestlé, Mars Wrigley, Coca-Cola, Walkers and Pepsi MAX. Thanks go to players of People’s Postcode Lottery for raising funds to support this campaign.
