Marlow Medical Group

Since my last update Marlow Medical Group (MMG) and our network of practices have been able to administer a further 2799 vaccinations having run clinics on 18, 25 and 26 February 2021.

Since starting to run vaccination clinics on 7 January 2021 we have now been able to vaccinate 13527 residents including residents and staff who are in care homes or housebound.  This is an average of approximately 1000 vaccinations per clinic in February.

We are currently continuing to invite Group 6 residents; all individuals aged 16 to 64 years with underlying health conditions.   This is a large group and will continue over the coming clinics.

Our next clinic is on Friday 5 March at Adams Park Stadium.  To enable us to focus on running the vaccination programme we kindly ask that you don’t call the surgery unless absolutely necessary.  We will contact you via text or phone call.

We have been able to vaccinate a large majority of our housebound residents which has required careful organisation to ensure that all vaccine can be administered each day within the refrigeration timescales.  This will continue until all are vaccinated.

Later in March we will begin to invite our residents who were vaccinated in January to receive their 2nd vaccines in line with the 12 week government guidance.  As with the first vaccine we will be in touch with you to invite you.

To avoid duplication of invites, Patients in Group 5; 65-70 years old shall receive NHS letters inviting them for vaccination and are encouraged to book via the central 119 system, which offers appointments at the mega centre and pharmacy run clinics.

A person’s Covid status has been determined by Public Health England not your GP.  We are strictly following government group guidelines.

All of this would not be possible without our fantastic team of staff and volunteers who do this in addition to offering our normal services.

We are very thankful to you all in enabling us to play our part in the amazing progress of the vaccination programme nationally.

We continue to be touched by the many generous food donations we have received.  These are really appreciated and welcomed by all of us.

We look forward to continuing to welcome you for vaccination in the months ahead.
