Big Help Out – the national volunteering campaign marking The King’s Coronation – was launched on Monday (20th) and is encouraging everyone to try out volunteering and lend a hand in the local community.
As the Volunteer Centre for Buckinghamshire, we are encouraging Bucks residents to find out about local volunteering opportunities by registering with Buckinghamshire Volunteer Matching Service which has placed 1700 volunteers in roles where they are most needed since March 2020. Local residents who are keen to volunteer just have to fill in a 5-minute registration form to tell us their preferences and then the team checks to see if there is a suitable role.
Similarly, local charities and other volunteer-involving groups can register their volunteer vacancies with the Volunteer Matching Service, thereby tapping into a pool of local volunteers and taking advantage of the national momentum on volunteering.
