After a successful pitch by Marlow Town Council to Peter Jones CBE, the well-known Dragons Den entrepreneur of Marlow has agreed to press the big switch on the 24th of November to light up the Town.
Commenting, Mayor Richard Scott said – “We are delighted to have Peter on board to illuminate Marlow, he was the dragon we were after and we know he will make Marlow special this Christmas. It was a tough pitch, but we secured his backing!“
Peter commented – “who wouldn’t want to be in Marlow, it has a unique character with vibrance and it’s a very investable town, so we are going to light it up. I am delighted to be involved!”
Marlow based entrepreneur Peter is not only an investor, creator of American inventor in the USA and star of UK Dragons’ Den in the UK but he is also “Guest shark” on Shark Tank in the America and the founder of Britain’s 1st Enterprise Academy. Peter’s been a Dragon since the very first series and his business portfolio is wide ranging with over 30 different businesses.
Peter launched the Peter Jones foundation in 2005 to provide young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, the enterprise skills and experiences needed to have the chance of a brighter future. In 2009 he was honoured by Her Majesty the Queen and made a CBE for his services to business, enterprise and young people.
