Carols on the Causeway

The Town Council was delighted to host Carols on the Causeway on Monday evening for the first time for two years due to previous Covid restrictions.  On a chilly evening, the Mayor Cllr Richard Scott welcomed hundreds of residents and friends and our MP Joy Morrissey, who all enjoyed the usual Christmas carols and songs led by the Marlow Town Band.  The evening closed after the singing “We wish you a Merry Christmas”.  The only regret was that we were unable provide a grotto for Father Christmas or mince pies and mulled wine due to Covid concerns,  Buckets were rattled to raise funds for the Mayor’s charity, Thames Hospice, who offer palliative and end-of-life care from their superb facility in Maidenhead – a magnificent total of £375 was raised from the generous donations. The Mayor closed the evening by wishing everybody a very happy Christmas and a happy New Year, hoping that it would be much better than 2021.
