Marlow Bridge – Enhancement Work

Marlow Bridge — Heavy Goods Vehicles Prevention Measures — Enhancement Work 15 th, 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th February 2021

Transport for Buckinghamshire will be undertaking enhancement work to the existing bollards on the approaches to the bridge to help prevent heavy goods vehicles crossing the bridge.

The prevention work is planned to start during the school half term week commencing on 15 February 2021. The works is scheduled to take approximately 5 days and will be undertaken on DAYTIMES ONLY between 07:30 and 17:30 hrs.

In order to undertake these works in a safe manner, Marlow Bridge will be closed “DAY and NIGHT” to all vehicular traffic for the duration of the works. Temporary traffic diversions using alternative routes via the A404 will be in operation for the duration of the day and night road closure. Vehicular access for the residents and emergency services will still be possible up to the limits of the site, BUT NOT ACROSS THE BRIDGE.

Pedestrian/cyclist traffic will be maintained via the designated bridge area.

We have also co-ordinated with other highway departments such as street lighting and they will endeavour to utilise this road closure to carry out additional work if viable to minimise the need for future closures.

Every effort will be made to carry out the works with minimum disturbance.

Buckinghamshire Council apologise for any inconvenience which may be caused. If you have any queries about the works, you can call 01296 382416 and one of my colleagues will pass your enquiry through to me to respond to.
