A new way to Remember

A pre-recorded Remembrance service will be streamed from All Saints’ Church, Marlow on 8th November, with no live event planned due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The service will be recorded during the previous week and wreaths will be laid privately in advance. Reverend Dave Bull of All Saints’ Church will lead the service, Dixie Ingram of the Scots Piped Band will play the Lament and Sir Henry-Aubrey Fletcher, Lord Lieutenant, will lay a wreath. The poem In Flanders Field will be read by children of Sandygate School.

Mayor Richard Scott said: “Although we’re very disappointed that we are unable to hold our normal Remembrance Day parade and service, we are looking forward to commemorating the anniversary in a different way. We hope that many people will watch the streamed version online.”

Marlow Town Council and the Marlow Branch of the Royal British Legion are encouraging people to show support to the country’s Armed Forces and Veterans by displaying a poppy image in their windows during the Remembrance Period.

The streamed service will start at 10.30 am and finish at 11.30. The online link for All Saints’ You Tube channel is:
