Get creative this half-term – help tell the story of the Marlow Donkey Railway

The Marlow Donkey railway may be a small line, but it has a big story — connecting Marlow, Bourne End and surrounding towns for over 150 years.
Join us this May half term for free, hands-on creative workshops, where young people will explore local history and their own ideas to help shape a new illustrated walking trail for the community.
When: Friday 30 May
Cost: Free – booking required
Location: Marlow Youth & Community Centre, Wycombe Road, SL7 3JD
Sessions:
Morning (10:00am–12:00pm): Primary school children (ages 5–10) with a parent/carer
Afternoon (1:00pm–3:00pm): Young people aged 11–16
No experience needed – just bring your creativity and curiosity.

Young Mental Health Champions – now recruiting

We’re now recruiting for two new teams in our Young Mental Health Champions programme — a youth voice and peer-led mental health initiative for young people aged 13–17 across Buckinghamshire.
This free programme supports young people to explore mental health, gain valuable qualifications, and contribute to improving support for others in their communities.
Participants will:
- Achieve a Level 2 qualification from the Royal Society of Public Health
- Complete Youth Mental Health First Aid training (MHFA England-accredited)
- Take part in mystery shopping to provide feedback on local mental health services
- Deliver peer-led wellbeing messages to reduce stigma and support others
Ideal for young people interested in mental health, youth leadership, or volunteering (DfE-recognised hours apply).
We are recruiting for two teams:
- A Community Team based at Princes Risborough Youth Centre (for young people aged 13–17 who live or study in Buckinghamshire)
- A Home-Educated Team based in Marlow (for home-educated young people aged 13–17 living in Buckinghamshire)

Club for Neurodivergent Young People – LEGO Robotics (Marlow)

Due to popular demand, we’re launching a second Saturday Space club for neurodivergent young people aged 10–16. This group focuses on LEGO® Robotics, offering creativity, coding, and connection in a calm and supportive space
Free Taster Session: Saturday 7th June, 3:30–5:30 PM
7-Week Series (Saturdays) : 14th, 21st, 28th June & 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th July
Location: Marlow Youth & Community Centre, Wycombe Road, SL7 3JD
All sessions: 15:30 – 17:30pm
Cost: £105 for full series (taster session is free)
Small group: max 10–12 young people

Understanding the Teenage Brain

Free Community Talk – In Partnership with the Marlow Living App
This in-person event is designed for parents, carers, teachers, and anyone supporting teenagers. Discover what’s happening in the teenage brain — and how adults can respond in ways that strengthen wellbeing and relationships.
Join us to:
- Understand how the teenage brain develops
- Learn practical strategies to support wellbeing
- Connect with our team over tea/coffee (small donation)
- Build confidence in supporting teens or soon-to-be teens
