To mark “Restart a Heart Day”, Marlow Mayor Councillor David Brown yesterday attended a free defibrillator training event being run by Child Matters. Child Matters is an award-winning Marlow Business run by Claire Street, which provides first aid training specialising in paediatric courses & training sessions for parents, carers & childcare professionals. Mayor Brown commented:
“Marlow Town Council has been focussed on supporting additional defibrillator units within Marlow to protect and support the residents should the need ever arise. I thought it was an ideal opportunity for me to learn how to use the defibrillator units. The superb training from Claire and her team has shown how easy these units are to use in the event they are needed in an emergency. I would encourage everyone to learn the basics of first aid and get training on defibrillators so that we can all help should the need arise”.
Marlow Town Council has supported the installation of defibrillator units in Marlow, and also recently started to add blood trauma kits to the units to make them even more useful in an emergency.
