Large crowds gathered on The Causeway on Remembrance Sunday, 10th November, for Marlow’s Ceremony of Remembrance, organised by Marlow Town Council and the Marlow Royal British Legion.
The Parade, comprising members of the armed forces, veterans, Royal British Legion, cadets, local organisations, Brownies, Guides and Scouts, was escorted by the Scots Guards Association Pipe Band from the Royal British Legion Headquarters to The Causeway. The service was led by Rev Canon Dave Bull from All Saints’ Church.
The Countess Howe, His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire, began the wreath-laying and took the Salute from the podium near the gold post box. Nearby parishes and organisations around the town laid their wreaths.
“It was wonderful to see so many Marlow residents gathered with us to remember the fallen,” Marlow Mayor, Cllr David Brown, said. “We’re also delighted to be joined by representatives from Marly-le-Roi, Mayor, Jean-Yves Perrot and Cécile Deleplanque Marie-adjointe and to welcome Cllr Gabor Molnar of Budavar, District 1 of Budapest to our event.”
