How do you get started?
It’s easier than you might think!
1. Find something you’re interested in.
Think about what you enjoy and how you would like to help.
2. Contact the organisation.
Get in touch and ask if they have any volunteering opportunities available.
3. Complete any forms or training.
Depending on the role, you may need to complete an application form, attend an informal interview or take part in an induction. Some roles, particularly those involving children or vulnerable people, may also require a DBS check.
4. Get involved and enjoy it!
Once you’re set up, you can start making a difference, meeting people and gaining new experiences.
And remember, you don’t have to commit huge amounts of time. There are volunteering opportunities to suit different schedules, so even a few hours can make a real difference.
