Carols on the Causeway 2017
Braving freezing temperatures, hundreds of Marlow residents attended this year’s Carols on the Causeway event in Marlow on Thursday, 14 December.
Children queued to see Father Christmas in his grotto, who was giving out Christmas chocolates courtesy of Marlow Town Council, while parents and friends enjoyed free mulled wine courtesy of the George and Dragon and mince pies donated by Waitrose and MTC. Carols around the Christmas tree were led by Mayor Jocelyn Towns, accompanied by The Marlow Town Band and the Marlow Choral Society.
The Mayor said: “Carols on the Causeway is one of my most favourite events - it is such a special evening, bringing the community together in the traditional way, with everyone singing carols around the Christmas tree. For me it signifies the start of Christmas.”
Marlow Town Council would like to thank The George and Dragon for providing the free mulled wine, Waitrose for providing mince pies, Marlow Town Band and Marlow Choral Society for their support.
